A Powerful Community of Women!

By Merritt Frey, Executive Director

Wow! Our first-ever 50 Women Mixer was a roaring success. I was so inspired to meet the incredible women who turned out to support girls’ education and empowerment.

More than 50 women (and supportive men!) attended the 50 Women Mixer to kick off our community.

More than 50 women (and supportive men!) attended the 50 Women Mixer to kick off our community.

We mingled and munched on great donated food (thank you Desert Edge Brewery & Pub and Ruby Snap!). We explored the beautiful donated Ladybird Society space. We went home with great swag. But mostly we discussed the challenges our girls face in Mali and how we could all be part of helping the girls overcome those challenges.

By the end of the evening, we knew we all wanted more. Participants suggested we create a community for 50 Women members to really get to know each other and our work. We’re are currently cooking up ideas to make that possible, so stay tuned.

If you missed the Mixer but are interested in the 50 Women community idea, please just email me and I’ll keep you informed as we develop the next steps. Believe me — you WANT to be part of this! Learn more about the 50 Women Campaign.

Thank you again to our sponsors!
