Fatoumata Helps The Mali Office Run Smoothly

By Merritt Frey, Executive Director

Fatoumata Kone, a former Mali Rising intern, is now helping out as our short-term administrative assistant in Mali.

Please join me in welcoming Fatoumata Kone, our new administrative assistant in Mali.

Fatoumata was previously an intern with Mali Rising, working on the Girls’ Project. She was a dedicated intern, traveling dusty, hard roads with Hindaty, our Girls’ Project Manager, to reach girls in our remote villages. Today, we’ve welcomed her back on a 4-month contract to help fill the Mali office’s administrative needs after Ousmane’s departure.

I asked Fatoumata to tell us a little about herself and here is what she shared:

“My name is Fatoumata Koné, I come from Bamako. I have a University Diploma of Technology (DUT) in Marketing Techniques at the University Institute of Management of Bamako (UIG). I have done several internships and volunteer work that allowed me to have professional experience.

Currently I am the administrative assistant at Mali Rising Foundation. My job is to do all the administrative work at the Mali Rising Foundation office in Mali. I organize my work in a specific way. I will explain in more detail the content of the tasks that are entrusted to me: it is to pay the various bills of the office, to establish the report of the course and the government. I also do other tasks such as the budget for each month, the financial report, print the incentive notes, make copies and scan the evaluation of the students. I als do interviews with the students.”

The work Fatoumata does makes ALL of our work possible by providing the solid support the staff need to do their work. We thank Fatoumata for being there to help!
